I am an athlete and I have been injured for the past 6 months. Over that time I have become very sad and it took away an essential part of me that made me myself. I cannot let that happen to another human being. Additionally, as a former coach in a co-ed youth flag league, especially at the younger levels the girls tended to be better athletes than the guys. There are also 42 trans kids, male and female, who have played a sport in Virginia over the past ten years. 42 kids do not pose a threat to the health of the entire state’s female population, and not all of them are playing anymore. VHSL doesn’t offer boxing. The most dangerous women’s sport is soccer, maybe volleyball, and coming from someone with a football background, those are non-contact sports with the biggest risk being stepping wrong on a turf field and tearing an ACL. If Virginia cared about the safety of their athletes, they’d make grass fields mandatory and we wouldn’t even be talking about trans kids. This is a waste of government time and money. How about let’s talk about the plastic that’s in our bloodstream?
