Evidence-backed policies are critical to the proper functioning of a state and the protection of civil rights under the rule of law. There is simply no body of scientific evidence that backs up the claims of harm made by those who support this petition. It is pseudoscientific fear mongering, and it has no place in a modern state. Those who support these discriminatory policies will be remembered in the same way we remember those who opposed desegregation in Virginia in the last century — with shame and reproach.
