So often the assumption is made by people who do not work with gifted kids that they will all be okay because they are intelligent, that their needs are being met if they are given services that every other child receives.  Anyone who does work with gifted kids knows this is the opposite of truth for these kids; their intelligence or gift does not preclude them from deserving to have their special needs met! 

These proposed changes seem to ignore what is est for our gifted population.  Let the experts in the field of gifted learners be the ones who determine what they need and ensure that they get it.
