I strongly oppose the reduction of hours for the attendants. This proposal is absolutely ridiculous. I am a live-in attendant for my brother and we have 2 other attendants working. He isn't just awake for 8 hours a day. In our situation we need these current hours not cut them. If he were to be in a facility, do you really think he would only receive 56 hours weekly?! NO he would not and it would cost WAY more for the facility. Also, I strongly oppose the elimination of the service facilitator. We have a wonderful company. I think the state needs to cut money in other areas not on our individuals/families that need assistance. These changes must be coming from people that have never taken care of a person with disabillities and they probably never could. Take care of the people instead of your "pocketbooks"!
