DMAS doesn’t care

It’s a sad state of affairs the way that our state is trying to treat its most vulnerable citizens. The disabled. Things were going really well right up until the DOJ stepped out of the lawsuit. I told several friends to mark my words that it won’t last. I was so right on that.
The rights of the disabled are being trampled by DMAS at an alarming rate.  It’s so bad it makes me think they’re next going to be deciding who lives and who dies.  I’m sure they’d love to have that power, to just “do away” with any individual that costs them over x amount per month. DOJ fought for these people to have some dignity and stay in their homes in the community with the support for person centered planning. Now it’s going to DMAS centered planning.  We all know what they want - institutions. Pack them all away so they can “get rid of” the ones that cost too much or are too hard to handle. Get them out of the community and into the institutions where they can be abused and neglected.
The only hope we have is that either DOJ steps back in or someone finds a class action law firm to take on the state.
