At one time the bay was crystal clear. seagrass beds everywhere. Oyster beds 5 to 6 feet above the water line. Monster rockfish and bluefish. Seagrass is gone bluefish are gone and the rockfish are dwindling. Why? Outlying growth is one reason, but mostly because the commercial fishing industry has basically wiped out the two biggest water filters the bay has and needs. Oysters and menhaden. The bay needs a break. Omega Protein needs to go back to Canada.
