If you want to protect women, update penalties/ enforcement for assaults/murders, etc

I urge you to oppose any legislation that would restrict transgender women and girls from participating in female athletics or accessing female-designated spaces.

Such laws are not only discriminatory, but they also lack a foundation in sound science or public safety data. Leading medical and psychological associations—including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association—have all affirmed that transgender individuals should be supported in living according to their gender identity, including in athletics and public accommodations.

Blanket bans on participation or access based on assigned sex at birth ignore the complexity of gender and do real harm. They marginalize an already vulnerable population, expose them to higher risks of mental health issues, and send a harmful message that trans people do not belong in public life. Fairness in sports is important, but it can be addressed through inclusive and nuanced policy—not through exclusion.

This kind of legislation does not reflect the values of fairness, dignity, and equality that our Commonwealth should uphold. I respectfully ask you to vote against any such proposals.
