I oppose this petition. It has no foundation in science or public health, and falls outside the legal authority of the Board.

This politically motivated attack hurts trans people. It’s not about fairness, it's about control, and would negatively affect the mental and physical health of Virginians. Participation in sports, and especially youth sports, is clearly linked to an improvement in mental and physical well-being, as well as educational outcomes, leadership skills, and more. 

Sport is inclusive, and sports in Virginia are for everyone.
