With the way the economy is now we can not afford an increase that large. There is already a shortage of nurses so imposing an increase that step puts the field in jeopardy of losing the nurses they have and discouraging potential nurses that are considering joining the field. A small increase is understandable but the amount being proposed is uncalled for.
