If anything these fees should be reduced to account for the critical shortage of nurses. Asking those in a trusted profession to make up for cost reduction efforts by taking out of their on pockets is tone deaf. This increasingly tumultuous political environment directly impacts the health and wealth of our nations nurses as the backbone of the healthcare system. The very thought of increasing licensing fees should be carefully reconsidered. The fall out of asking for more from nurses while offering less will result in an even lower retention in a fledgling political and health care system. As an APRN I vehemently disagree with these increases and ask the board to reconsider.
