The proposed increase in licensure fees is an unreasonable burden, especially given the state of healthcare. Facilities all over are understaffed/overworked, salaries don't keep pace with inflation, and many nurses are living paycheck to paycheck while struggling with student loan debt and more. To then demand more money to maintain a license for a job that barely covers life expenses is absurd. The government has already shown little to zero concern for ACTUAL healthcare issues such as nurse-to-patient ratios. This fee hike only adds to the already overwhelming financial and mental strain on nurses. With many already leaving the profession, this will only make matters worse. Please demolish this fee increase for the sake of nurses and the healthcare system.
