I am writing to strongly support, keeping Adam legal and not putting any regulations on its use. As any of us who have actually read the research now the only opioid crisis is caused by illegal drugs and that’s primarily fentanyl. However, The misinformation has made it so doctors no longer feel safe prescribing opioids, and many of them have lost licenses, assets and have gone to prison. Pharmacies are frequently out of pain medication. The choices are very few thinking people who want to stay alive trying to stay away  Illegal fentanyl. Legitimate fentanyl is still used, but illegal fentanyl off the streets kills, and it kills in droves. People are desperately trying every safe thing they can find from Polypeptides, which are now beginning to be regulated, as well, too, Kratom. Amazingly Kratom has proved to be a lifesaver for many, many people there are those who cannot tolerate it and it’s not a good choice for them but others have found that Kratom actually works better for them than opiates. If Kratom becomes illegal or has to be regulated, intractable pain patients will have no other choice but to go to the streets or commit suicide. Intractable pain is not tolerable. All research done to date shows that Kratom is a safe herb.kratom has been used for centuries in various cultures, sometimes as part of a religious ceremony. It is a safe drug that is saving lives. If this Becomes illegal and unavailable the result will be many many more deaths. Information about Kratom, if it’s made illegal, Will join the ranks of all the false narratives around this supposed opioid crisis. Please do your research and do not react from emotional perspectives.. Get the testimony of all the people who are able to live a normal life because of this herb. You have my email and my name and I will happily help in this process. I am probably a good choice because as an intractable pain, patient, I have not yet needed to use them. My doctor is still prescribing the medication‘s that I’ve worked for over two decades. However, those meds are not always available and fewer and fewer docs, feel safe in prescribing them, not because they’re dangerous to someone like me who’s been using them for decades, but because of that false narrative that has been spread far and wide by people like Andrew Kolodny through PROP.  PROP stands for Physicians for responsible, opiate prescribing. It is a total misnomer. This irresponsible change in effectively managing intractable pain has caused irreparable harm and damage. Do not add Kratom to the list of effective medications that are safe and allow people to live productive lives, working and raising families. To do anything else will not only be a death sentence to the individual within intractable pain, but also to the family of that patient. Intractable pain impacts every person associated with the patient. Kratom is one of the treatments, that can be extremely effective and caused no harm. Let’s have Physicians for responsible treatment.
