Kratom vs. Coffee | Please Continue to Regulate & Keep Kratom Legal

For the past four years, I've had kratom tea 2-4 times per week. I typically drink kratom tea (kratom leaves steeped in hot water) and occasionally have kratom powder in capsules. As a veterinary nurse, kratom helped me work long hours on my feet doing physically intense work.

When I drink coffee, I feel anxious. If I have any caffeine past 3 PM, I have difficulty sleeping. When I drink kratom tea instead, I'm able to be extremely productive while also feeling calm and composed. I have no difficulty falling asleep after drinking kratom tea as late as 8 PM, so it's incredibly helpful when I work late and need a bit of extra energy.

The amount I consume on a daily basis hasn't changed over the years. I don't miss kratom on the days I don't consume it. I have never experienced withdrawal.

Regulation and education can keep consumers safe. If you had never consumed coffee before and didn't know a lot about it and you drank three cups, you'd likely have an adverse reaction. The way to prevent this isn't to ban coffee/caffeine, it's to educate consumers on how to drink coffee responsibly and make sure they know what a serving size is. It's also essential to ensure that the market is regulated so that consumers aren't getting products with microbiological contaminants, excessive heavy metals, or unknown amounts of active compounds.

Please regulate kratom instead of banning it. Thank you.
