I support the classification of kratom as a Schedule I controlled substance. So to protect public health due to its abuse potential, unregulated usage leading to potential adverse effects and lack of science for approved benefits. Scheduling kratom would prevent  therapeutic claims that are not verified or backed up by science , promote more expensive research and  tighter regulatory control.
