Honestly, this whole scheduling of Kratom is kind of ludicrous. To even suggest that this plant is as dangerous as methamphetamine or heroine is idiotic. Kratom cannot kill you, no matter how much you take. Is it psychoactive, yes, but barely so. An "overdose" of kratom will result in nausea, dizziness, and maybe vomiting. That is it. There is no respiratory depression, loss of consciousness, brain damage, or psychosis. Consider for one moment all of the opioid users who quit using said opioids with the help of Kratom. Now consider all of those opiod users who could have died in their addiction had they not found kratom. This number would likely be staggering. For me personally, Kratom has saved my life. I was an alcoholic, meth addict with a very lengthy criminal record. Since finding this miraculous plant, I have quit drinking, quit injecting methamphetamine, and more importantly-quit being a burden on society by committing crimes cause by alcohol/meth. I am now a productive member of society. I work, I contribute, I pay my bills/taxes, and I am content. Kratom has essentially cured my depression and manages my anxiety. To schedule kratom will force the people who have had their lives saved by this plant(such as myself)back onto to illicit drugs like heroine and fentanyl and perpetuate the cycle of crime and lawlessness that accompanies such addictions. To schedule Kratom, you are contributing to the very crisis you think you are trying to defeat. DON'T KILL PEOPLE, DONT SCHEDULE KRATOM!
