Kratom is an addictive drug. Due to the rise in popularity and incorrect facts, people take it as an alternative to opioids. The biggest problem is that it triggers the exact same receptors, thus causing the same effects and the same likelihood of addiction and dependence.  
Those who claim Kratom is a lifesaver, are afraid of Kratom being banned because they are addicted and do not want the law banning/scheduling. 
Those who were addicted and had to detox, had loved ones die from overdose, or have loved ones addicted currently will vote to ban/schedule. 
please consider scheduling/banning Kratom.
