Kratom saved my life

I am a 38 year old man who was struggled with on and off drug and alcohol addiction for most of my life.  Most people, rightfully so, wrote me off years ago to be dead from meth or opiate use.  I had multiple overdoses and went to rehab multiple times.  Never committed any crimes, was usually employed and I was educated as well ~ more like a (dys)functional addict.

Six years ago I found kratom.  I haven't touched drugs since and very occasionally will have some alcohol at times of celebration (few times a year).  I went back to school and completed my Masters in computer science and am now a software engineer, working my dream job, making $180,000 a year.  I repaired my marriage, have one beautiful daughter and a son on the way (4 months out).  I repaired all my relationships with my family.  Some times I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming.

I take the same amount of kratom every day, approximately at the same time of day.  I never have any cravings to do any more.  What kratom does for me is curbs my cravings for other drugs and alcohol.  It gives me a slight buzz comparable to nicotine and caffeine.  It also has harm reduction built into it with a built in "ceiling effect" where diminishing returns are met quickly.  Take too much, you get dizzy and can throw up.

This harm reduction profile is amazing.  This is a GREAT solution for addicts.  There are so many people like me with similar stories.  Kratom is natural, easy to grow, simple to harvest and distribute at scale.  It solves so many problems for addicts.  Want people to stop dying from fentanyl? Let them take kratom.  Every addict I know who switched to kratom has turned their life around.

Kratom doesn't affect your respiratory system like opiates do, so there is no risk of overdosing and dying.  I take kratom before I exercise and have no issues; in fact, I am in the best shape of my life.  I get bloodwork and physicals done multiple times a year, and everything looks great.

Please don't ban kratom.  You will really be screwing over so many people like me. I didn't know it was possible to live a life like I am living now. I am so happy and thankful for this Kratom plant.

I already tried therapy, rehab, all the psychiatric addiction drugs, SSRIs, meditation/yoga, suboxone and methadone.  Every medical treatment there is for addiction, I have tried it.

I could say more but I know you have a lot to read so I will end this here.  Thanks for taking the time to hear me out.
