Kratom has potential to help people

I have used kratom for many years and it has not impacted my health in a bad way. In fact it has enhanced my life, keeping me active and moving as I grow older and my arthritis gets worse.

Maryland has passed

MD HB1229 ,Requiring a retailer that prepares, distributes, sells, or exposes for sale a kratom product to disclose the factual basis on which the representation is made; establishing prohibitions related to the preparation, distribution, and sale of kratom products, including prohibitions related to the sale of kratom to individuals under the age of 21 years and the marketing of kratom to minors; establishing certain penalties for violations of the Act; etc.

In a report on the findings, published in the Feb. 3 issue of Drug and Alcohol Dependence, say that U.S. drug agencies should seek to study and regulate rather than ban kratom sales outright because of its seemingly safe therapeutic potential, and as a possible alternative to opioid use.

And, Albert Garcia-Romeu, Ph.D., instructor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the new survey findings “suggest that kratom doesn’t belong in the category of a Schedule I drug, because there seems to be relatively low rate of abuse potential, and there may be medical applications to explore, including as a possible treatment for pain and opioid use disorder.”

Please follow Maryland and regulate kratom for purity and age restriction to sale to over 21. And to study kratom for potential future uses.

Thank you
