Goals of Regulation 1.) To reduce the exposure of underground coal miners to the harmful constituents of diesel exhaust.
2.) To provide for safe operation of underground diesel powered equipment.
3.) To provide for safe storage and handling of diesel fuel in underground coal mines.
4.) To encourage more productive coal mines.
