Goals of Regulation (i) Whether the regulations continue to protect public health by preventing disease outbreaks attributable to shellfish contamination;

(ii) Whether Virginia's shellfish industry maintains its reputation nationally as reliably safe and free of contamination and Virginia shellfish continues to be shipped in interstate markets; and

(iii) Whether shellfish dealers continue to be certified in a timely manner.
