Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes
This guidance document focuses on assisting schools to support individuals and their families when students reach the age of majority. Some of the updates were a result of legislation from the 2020 General Assembly, plus additional resources were added. Additionally, the document was revised to include federal and state regulations governing special education. The purpose of this document is to assist school administrators and parents in operationalizing the law and regulations relative to the transfer of rights of students with disabilities who reach the age of majority.
