Description of Proposed Guidance Document Changes

The Nursing Scholarship Program Guidelines were updated to include guidelines for VDH’s newly funded nursing incentive programs. Guidelines for each of VDH’s nursing scholarship programs are required by the Code of Virginia. Workforce Unit within the Office of Health Equity at VDH has combined the guidelines for all of the agency’s nursing programs into one document for ease of use. The impacted programs are as follows: 1. Virginia Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Midwife Scholarship Program (§ 32.1-12 and § 32.1-122.602): added guidance to align with the program’s newly restored funding 2. Virginia Nurse Educator Scholarship Program (§ 32.1-12 and § 32.1-122.601): added guidance to align with the program’s newly restored funding 3. Mary Marshall Nursing Scholarship Program for Certified Nurses Assistants (§ 32.1-122.604): added guidance to align with the program’s modification to include and newly allocated funding for Certified Nurses Assistants 4. Long-Term Care Scholarship for Certified Nurses Assistants (§ 54.1-3011.2 and § 32.1-122.601): added guidance to align with the program’s modification to include and newly allocated funding for Certified Nurses Assistants 5. Long-Term Care Scholarship for Licensed Practical Nurses (§ 54.1-3011.2 and § 32.1-122.601): added guidance to align with the program’s modification to include and newly allocated funding for Licensed Practical Nurses 6. Long-Term Care Scholarship for Registered Nurses (§ 54.1-3011.2 and § 32.1-122.601): added guidance to align with the program’s modification to include and newly allocated funding for Registered Nurses
