The proposed regs are very much a concern for me. The overall goal of protecting the Bay is not a bad one, however, the devil is in the details. Here are my views:
1. What is being proposed will dramatically impact the economic viability of land use. Land owners will experience tremendous loss in value to their land.
2. The Regs will make it much more expensive and difficult for businesses to build or rehab for business purposes. thus, the regs are very much anti-business.
3. The proposed regs impact developers and businesses without dealing with the worst offenders, farms. You should first deal with farms and get them on equal footing with other land owners regulation-wise and then make changes to the regs that impact all "polluters equally.
4. As proposed, the regs amount to a public taking without compensation to land owners.
Please take more time to get public imput and to review the work of independent engineers on these excessively expensive and restrictive proposed regs.
