I support the proposed changes in state regulations to grant licensure for Clinical Nurse Specialists. These changes are consistent with the Consensus Model for APRN Regulation and will recognize clinical nurse specialists as advanced practice nurses. This change will also allow clinical nurse specialists to practice to the full extent of their education as recommended in the Institute of Medicine Report on the Future of Nursing.
