1)     the additional land that would be needed to develop residential and commercial projects, which would cause urban sprawl;

2)     the loss of revenue for county governments caused by the sprawl, which could increase property taxes;

3)     the additional development cost of projects, which would increase business lease costs and significantly harm economic development efforts;

4)     the need for larger lot sizes to meet the regulations, which would increase infrastructure costs and severely harm affordable housing efforts;

5)     the inability to meet state-mandated higher density requirements through urban development areas (UDA);

6)     the one-size-fits-all approach to the regulations, which would unfairly require counties that have no waters running into the Bay to meet the Bay requirements and charge their residents additional money in stormwater management fees;

7)     the Technical Advisory Committee, which helped write the regulations, never came to consensus about the validity of the proposal;

8)     the current regulations which, if properly enforced, could go a long way toward eradicating the problems with water quality.
