VOTE NO !

This is a "feel good" proposal that will neither reduce risk nor improve engineering in the Commonwealth.  I haven't seen any statistics or that indicate states with CE requirements are safer than states without one.

The public won't be safer because we start going to lunch-and-learn sessions from salesmen trying to make their quota.  The CE requirement will result increase  the cost of engineering services in the commonwealth, and will help keep unemployed engineers unemployed - not to mention help keep parents away from their families.

PEs who work in public safety place their reputations, careers, businesses and families on the line every time they stamp. If they need CE, they'll get it.  If they're poor engineers, pull their license.  They've already got motivation to remain current.

This Hokie votes NO !  Look like most of the responders agree.
