Opposed to continuing education

Like many, my employer does not require its engineers to be licensed.  This was a personal goal.  Therefore, time to take couses, attend seminars, etc. will have to be done after working hours.  Between a demanding career and an active family life (I have two young boys), there's simply no time for coursework.  Not to mention the costs.

I have a B.S. degree, passed the F.E. and P.E. exams on the first attempt, and have an exemplary record with my employer for 13 years.  I keep abreast of current technology through trade magazines and the internet.  What benefit could this program have for me?
