It's obvious the PEs in here dislike this idea!

If we, the licensed Professional Engineers, have any say-so regarding this mandate of 16 hours of continuing education credits every two years, this proposal will be shot down and buried.  It's obvious from all the comments thus far, we do not support this and see it as another form of revenue for the Government and/or Education sectors.

This reminds me so much of the HRTA (Hampton Roads Transportation Authority), which was passed by local city councils without voter input nor referendums.  This plan was declared unconstitutional by the Virginia State Supreme Court, and rightfully so!  It wouldn't surprise me if the same state administration is heading this proposal.

If this proposal passes, it indicates that we, the Professional Engineers, have no real voice in the matter and really don't count.  If that ends up being the case, I will not re-new my license as I will see I'm not a part of anything special, just a wallet for the state to dig their hands into.

Please vote NAY!
