I fully support the Virginia Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists’ petition to revise regulations related to the registration and practice authority for Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) in the Commonwealth of Virginia . CNS skills and training are often misunderstood by others although the training is similar and equal to that of a Nurse Practitioner. Barriers to CNS practice in Virginia exist despite implementation of the Consensus Model.    Practice authority will improve patient support in a very overwhelmed medical system, especially in the rural areas of Virginia. I encourage legislative support of this petition.
