Dry Needling is an acupuncture technique

Dry needling is the use of an acupuncture needle (non-injectable needle) to break up musculoskeletal hypertonicity. Physical Therapists should not be allowed to perform this service since it is outside of their scope of practice. Just like an Acupuncturist not being allowed to perform trigger point injections, which is a rehab modality provided by PA's, Physiatrists and Orthopedists.
