Gun Ban in Government Buildings

I do not understand exactly what "emergency" will be solved by banning concealed carry permit holderts and off-duty police from carrying firearms in government buildings.  To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a criminal incident involving this group of uncommonly law-abiding citizens in a Virginia government building.  The governor's reflexive antipathy to private firearms ownership is well known, but this is simply silly.  It will actually INCREASE the likelihood of an incident because we will now have another self-defense free zone in which only criminals will be armed.  The comment period for this action should be extended 30 days.
