Although the statement in the subject line above would seem self explanatory, it is obvious to the citizens of this nation that those in government, both state and federal, have no comprehension of it's intent or meaning. This is certainly true of our current Governor. Not only does this regulation have the opposite effect of it's stated purpose, it demonstrates a clear lack of understanding in regards to basic human rights and human nature. Gun bans such as this are only followed by law abiding citizens. NOT criminals. They couldn't care less about the laws regarding guns or indeed any laws,that's what makes them criminals! They break laws, they do not follow them. The only effect this ban will have is to make it harder and more dangerous for law abiding citizens to defend themselves against an increasingly emboldened criminal and terrorist threat. It is important to note that all but two of the "mass shootings" in the U.S. since 1950 have been (ironically) in "gun free zones". They are obviously a completely failed experiment. Furthermore,the Governor has no authority for this regulation. If the General Assembly wanted the Governor to have such power, they would have granted it to him explicitly, as is required constitutionally. Therefore the ban is unconstitutional and unenforceable.

It is the opinion of this citizen that this is a solution to a problem that simply does not exist. It is a all sound and fury signifying nothing. It is another attempt by a leader drunk with power to restrict the rights of the people for no credible reason. This regulation should not be approved and the emergency regulation withdrawn.
