Opposition to Governor McAuliffe's State Agency Gun Ban

I am opposed to the Governor's plan to implement a permanent gun ban on the carrying of firearms in State buildings by persons legally authorized to carry firearms in the state of Virginia.   The proposed permant ban, a follow up action to the Government "Emergency" state sgency ban currently in place.

A study of the public massacres that have occured shows that these overwhelming occur in places where it is legal for citizens to legally carry firearms.

Criminals have no regard for the law and the law would not prevent criminals from having weapons in these area but would prevent citizens of  the Commonwealth the right and capaiblity to defend themselvs against these criminals who will not be deterred in any way by the proposed ban.

Lastly, I do not believe tha tthe Governor has the legal authority to impose a ban on this nature and that it would be a wasste of Commonweath tax dollars having to defend this action in the court of law.

Regards,

John R Fulmer, U.S. Navy (Ret.)
