TARP laws regulating Planned Parenthood facilities that provide abortions are medically unnececessary. If it were males who needed the same services, this wouldn't even be an issue.
Whether male or female, those in the medical profession overwhelmingly agree that hospital environments for most abortion procedures is not needed; an invasion of women's personal health care choices; and serious government over-reach to control women's health care access.
Should a woman's life be in danger if an abortion procedure is not performed, laws already exist allowing for a hospital environment to best provide for the woman's well-being. No new laws are needed.
Most women who seek Planned Parenthood services seek accurate sexuality education and information; help with planning and spacing their pregnancies; screening for early detection of cervical or uterine cancer; treatment for sexually transmitted diseases; or a combination of these services. All of these are personal matters requiring no hospital-like facitlities and NO government intrusion. Women who can't afford private health care look to Planned Parenthood to help them.
I appeal to the many rational, reasonable thinking men and women among our legislators to vote NO on these proposals, and trust they will be soundly defeated at voting time.
