The health department should never allow a political agenda to over-ride accurate and factual scientific data on health needs.  The TRAP regulations unfairly single out abortion providers requiring unnecessary architectural changes that are unrelated to women's health needs.  Should such regulations be appropriate, I believe that they should apply to all out patient medical facilities from dentists to laboratory facilities. What these regulations have done is limit access to necessary procedures including cancer screenings; prevent access to birth control (which would obviate the need for abortions), and cause facilities providing needed health services to close. This is shameful.
