These regulations have nothing to do with supporting VA women's health and do the opposite. Access to reproductive care is essential for all women and, by the extension, their communities. The structural requirements imposed by these laws are not based on science/data, are not based on sound analysis of what is necessary in the context of that clinic's patients, and aim to impose onerous, ARBITRARY regulation. I am appalled that this is happening in Virginia. I strongly object to these arbitrarily expanded regulations. They should not apply to either current or future abortion providers in my state. Moreover, I find the fact that the AG refused to certify the Board of Health's initial (conservative) recommendation disrespectful, politically motivated, and personally offensive. If you want to improve health, I suggest doing something actually supported by data and mandating and facilitating shorter wait times in ER rooms, where people die waiting. I oppose the present TRAP measures as politically motivated and harmful to women.
