Petty sports grievance, not a legislative need

While it can be very disappointing to lose a sport you're passionate about, the fact is that sports are competitive and no one can "take" your spot - only you can earn it. Reka Gyorgy is understandably disappointed to place 17th place in the 500 freestyle in 2022. Unfortunately for her, that's how sports work - the better competitors are the ones who get to compete at higher levels and 16 swimmers were better than her that day (15 of whom are ostensibly cisgender). This loss hasn't hurt her career either - Virginia Tech employs Reka in a leadership role in the swim program, as Director of Operations, which is quite the achievement for someone with a completely unrelated bachelor's degree.

To even consider making changes to Commonwealth law based on a grudge and one person's personal disappointment at her own performance is ludicrous. Throw this absurd petition out and work on making the Commonwealth better for all citizens.
