Do not roll back civil rights that prohibit discrimination

I find it nearly unbelieveable that the proposed legislation would literally roll back almost 20 years of civil right protections against discrimination.

I take great offense to the following lines being struck from the prohibiation: gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability or familty status.  The idea that a person or couple's qualifications could be judged on something other than their ability to raise the child is laughable in America.

B. The licensee shall prohibit acts of discrimination based on race, color, [ gender, or ] national origin, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability, or family status ] to:

I find it appalling that a couple could be rejected due to sexual orientation. The simple point is that if two people wish to raise a child, they should be judged on their ability to provide a safe and prosperous home for the child.  Saying that two individuals could not raise a child merely due to their sexual orientation is incredibly short sited.  I in fact know same sex couples who are indeed raising children and doing a wonderful job at it.  They are as good as my own parents were.  I do know of plenty situations where heterosexual parents are abusive and neglectful of their children.  The fact that it is a man/woman combination versus man/man or woman/woman is completely irrelevant in this day and age just as a black/white combination doesn't matter.

It is the love of the parents and their ability to be good parents that people should be judged by, not sexual orientation or other quality which one my personally find less desirable.  Equal rights are paramount.
