Out of state license holder

I moved out of state after passing the PE exam in Virginia.  If continuing education requirements are required in Virginia, I will let my license expire and not renew it.  If many of the other out of state license holders are in my situation, I see two things happening in Virginia:

1.) The state looses a significant number of Professional Engineers licensed to practice in the state.

2.) The state looses the revenue generated from renewing my license every few years.  I hope that the revenue generated from the continuing education is enough to make up for what is lost.

I attend enough training through work to stay proficient in engineering practices.  I don't need the additional time or expense added to maintain education requirements in another state.

I maintain my license in the state of Virginia because they do not have continuing education requirements, not because I am currently practicing in the state.  I don't need the additional work required to maintain the documentation associated with the education requirements.
