Hurt the commonwealth and drive engineers away

Requiring continuing education for license renewals will drive engineers away.  Other comments I’ve read indicate engineers will let their licenses lapse if required to take yet more educational courses. We live engineering every day of our professional lives, which is far superior to superfluous academic classes. When demand for professional engineers is at an all-time high, it is senseless to make the license renewal process more onerous. This proposal will hurt the commonwealth by reducing the number of licensed engineers.
