Yes to vaccines but NO to mandates

I am in favor of vaccines including the COVID vaccine. I believe the COVID vaccine had been effective in reducing spread and serious illness (though not preventing entirely). However since it does not prevent spread, it becomes more of a personal health decision if people want to protect themselves and their eligible children through vaccination.  Therefore I do not agree with vaccine mandates. The vaccine has proved to be relatively safe but it is not risk-free and therefore people should not be forced to take it.  Forcing a vaccine mandate will only further divide us, and cause upheaval in school operation and staffing which is already a problem. Please don’t drive away more teachers, administrators, bus drivers, etc.—we need every one who is still willing to take care of our kids despite the extremely challenging year and a half they’ve had.
