“Hospitalizations (24 states and NYC reported)*

  • Among states reporting, children ranged from 1.6%-4.2% of their total cumulated hospitalizations, and 0.1%-2.0% of all their child COVID-19 cases resulted in hospitalization

Mortality (45 states, NYC, PR and GU reported)*

It is intellectually dishonest to suggest Covid-19 impacts children to the degree of Polio, Measles, and other illnesses we require vaccines for to go to school. The current mortality rate for children is comparable to the Swine Flu (H1N1.) We did not require a flu vaccine for school then. Furthermore, the Polio vaccine took over 20 years to develop. Our current vaccine took a year. We don’t know if there will be long-term effects. Being cautious about giving our children, who have their whole lives ahead of them, a new vaccine, is not alarmism. It’s being wise. We also know the vaccine isn’t stopping transmission. We have NEVER needed to vaccinate 100% of the population for it to be effective. Many parents are concerned about their kids bringing the virus home. These parents can vaccinate themselves and their children. That is their CHOICE. If the vaccine is as effective as they claim, they shouldn’t be worried. Lastly, studies are showing natural immunity is BETTER than the vaccine. Employees should, at the very least, be able to be exempt if they’ve had the virus.
