I work in psychiatry and the fact is that many kids experience confusion in the area of gender and sexuality at one time or another.  The vast majority resolve these by adulthood.  Allowing GLBT advocates to promote their lifestyle over other options is not scientific nor moral.  A doctor I work with recently said, "Paternalism isn't always a bad thing."  We need to be able to exercise some wisdom as parents and professionals and not allow a small but vocal group to override our genuine concerns about the ideas they're pushing.  What's next?  Banning ideas we disagree with?  George Orwell would be turning over in his grave right now.
