An egregious overreach of power

The governor has committed a serious overreach of power by attempting to circumvent due process. Most egregiously, the governor has done so in the name of safety, attempting to solve a problem that does not exist. This sort of abuse of power must be put in check by the processes in place to properly adjusticate law and order in this Commonwealth.

The worst part about this nonsense is the sense the governor has put something important into place while doing nothing to protect Virginians. This reeks of doing something for the sake of doing something, which should be avoided at all costs, particularly when it comes to lawmaking.

The regulations should not be approved and the emergency regulation withdrawn at the earliest opportunity. Further, the governor should be censured for his overreach.
