Many years ago I had a job that did not have paid sick leave until I missed two days of work each time I was sick.  It didn't make any sense.  So most people went to work sick if they could.  Missing two days pay was difficult.  But I think of so many people who do not have paid sick leave, who have young children and are living from paycheck to paycheck.  One sickness can be an emergency.  We need to learn to treat our workers with dignity and respect. One way to do that is paid sick leave.
