It is my hope that DMAS would reconsider dismissing the parent child consumer direct care program. Children need consistency, especially children with disabilities and health issues that sometimes lead to mental health issues. These families and children need to know that the people ; who are caring for them are vested and want the best for them and we'll be there consistently to do the job and understand their feelings and their emotions and most of all their illness. Especially, with the current climate in the home healthcare industry, where there are not enough workers to satisfy the the demand and needs of this population ( children). The quality of care runs the risk of decline and would most likely lead to many other issues, that could cost significantly more than keeping this program in tact. I implore DMAS to please reconsider this proposal and continue the child parent consumer direct care for not only the families but for our communities and health care system. Thank you for reading and taking these thoughts into consideration.
