The Consensus Model is a national effort to align regulation and licensure of advanced practice nurses.  The model supports the advanced practice role of NPs and CNSs.  The Virginia State Board of Nursing can become part of a leading edge in health care reform by adopting the Consensus Model.  I am a psychiatric clinical nurse specialists working with seriously mentally ill people and families for over 25 years.  Thank you.
