Vote No to Continuing Education

There is very minimal value in forcing engineers to continue their education.  Our company will provide employees with continuing education when needed in areas where we feel it is needed for upcoming projects, etc.  Sometimes this training may not qualify for the CE credits.  Therefore I think it is best to leave the decision on CE up to the companies themselves.  We have proven capable in the past and will continue to do so.

I know that I am required to get CE in other states and sometimes the CE qualifies in one state and not another.  This has become a real hassle and a waste of time and money trying to fulfill these requirements.  Unless all states can agree upon what qualifies as CE, I think Virginia should avoid making it a requirement.  I may have to reconsider renewing my license in Virginia if the CE is required.
