Guidance Documents
Chapter Information
Description Federal regulations require that a period of ineligibility be established when a family receives a lump sum payment. The period of ineligibility may be shortened when it can be determined that the lump sum is unavailable to the family for reasons beyond the family's control. This regulation ensures that clients have the right to appeal the local agency decision. It also encourages equitable treatment of cases throughout the state.
