Chapter Information
Description According to the Family Support Act of 1988, Public Law 100-485, states are mandated to implement the Aid to Families with Dependent Children - Unemployed Parent (AFDC-UP) Program which is a component of the Aid to Families with Dependent Children Program. All categorical requirements and conditions of eligibility are the same as for the AFDC Program unless otherwise specified except that deprivation of a child is due to the unemployment of the principal wage earner parent and the dependent child must be living in a residence where both natural or adoptive parents are residing.
